Light, time and the connection from the land to sky melts in the form of an ice boat. By photographically ‘holding’ these stages of melt, the artist presents us with a paradoxical beauty that emerges from within the ever changing form. The rate of melt returns to the land in response to the sun. Here, the artist creates a poignant awareness of site and of the environment.The transference of the ice melting, liquefying back to itself and returning to its origin, that is, back to the landscape itself.
